Cultivation of 423 cannabis plants exposed in Yangikurgan

As part of the "Safe and Healthy Country" operational-preventive measures, two cases involving narcotics were uncovered in the Khorezm and Namangan regions.

An operational event was conducted in the Urgench district of the Khorezm region through the cooperation of the State Security Service, internal affairs, and customs authorities.

During the operation, a previously convicted individual was stopped and searched while receiving a parcel sent via taxi from the Russian Federation.

As a result of the inspection, a total of 967 grams of hashish hidden inside 10 chocolate packages were discovered within the shipment. This substance was documented as physical evidence.

The second case was recorded in the Yangikurgan district of the Namangan region. In an operation conducted by the Namangan regional department of the State Security Service in cooperation with internal affairs agencies, it was discovered that a local citizen had been cultivating 423 cannabis plants on their land.

According to the information, the individual had been tending to these plants with the intent to sell them later. The case has been documented in accordance with procedural rules.

Criminal cases have currently been initiated against both individuals. Investigative actions are ongoing.
