According to the results of a new survey conducted in Russia, Vladimir Putin's popularity has reached its highest level in recent years. According to the Institute of Socio-Political Research of the Russian Academy of Sciences, 65% of participants supported the president's activities. This indicator is a record for the entire observation history.

It is noted that in 2000, only 12% of Russians rated Putin as "beneficial to the country," while in 2018 this figure reached 54%. With the start of the war in Ukraine, the level of support has increased again, exceeding 60 percent.

According to the survey results, Joseph Stalin took second place - 45% of respondents positively assessed his activities. The rating of the Soviet-era leader has also reached its highest level in the last thirty years. In 2016, this figure was 31%, in 2022 - 40%, and in 2025 - 45%.

At the same time, it was noted that the number of people who expressed positive opinions about Nicholas II (16 percent) and Leonid Brezhnev (24 percent) also increased.

The most negative assessments were given by Mikhail Gorbachev and Boris Yeltsin. 59% of Russians named Gorbachev, and 56% called Yeltsin the most harmful leaders in the country's history.
