Five foreign citizens suspected of preparing a terrorist attack were detained in Almaty, Kazakhstan.

According to official data, the suspects developed a separate plan for carrying out the terrorist attack and brought it to the preparatory stage in September. During operational activities conducted by KNB officers, their activities were exposed and they were immediately detained.
The investigation is ongoing. Officials did not disclose the details of the investigation for security reasons.
In addition, it was reported that eight citizens of Kazakhstan, suspected of promoting terrorism in September and October, were also detained as part of a criminal case. It is said that their activities may also be associated with the dissemination of extremist ideas.
