One of the most prestigious beauty contests in the world - "Miss Universe 2025" is currently taking place in Bangkok, the capital of Thailand. However, from the very first days of the competition, it was remembered not only for the beauty parade but also for its great sensation, the International Business Times reports.
As it turned out, the event unfolded in an unexpected direction during the solemn welcoming ceremony held on November 5. The competition's vice president, Navat Itsaragrisil, publicly criticized Miss Mexico - Melisse Flores Bosh, who did not participate in the sponsored photoshoot, calling her "foolish." After these words, the atmosphere in the hall changed dramatically, and many participants left the event as a sign of protest.
Observers testified that the incident occurred during a live broadcast. Security officers were even ordered to expel the Mexican representative. The head, in response, left the stage and expressed his attitude with an open statement:
"I live in the 21st century, and no one has the right to treat me like a puppet. "This competition is not just about beauty - it's about making women's voices heard," she said.
Meanwhile, Miss Universe 2024 winner Victoria Ker Teylvig also expressed her condolences and announced her departure from the event. This situation caused widespread discussion on social networks.
As a reminder, this year's Miss Universe pageant is being held for the 74th time, with contestants from 79 countries participating. Czech model Natalie Pushkinova was declared the absolute winner of the "Miss World" competition in 2025. Representatives of Colombia and Cuba were awarded special prizes.
