Trump issued a harsh statement regarding Mexico and Venezuela

US President Donald Trump has once again come to the forefront of international attention at a press conference in Washington. His sharp statements regarding Mexico and Venezuela sparked serious discussions not only in the political circles but also by all parties monitoring the situation in the region.
Trump, noting the ineffectiveness of the fight against drug trafficking in Mexico, did not rule out the possibility of striking the territory of this country to stop the drug flow if necessary. He emphasized that the US is ready to "take any necessary measures" to restrict drug trafficking. Responding to journalists' questions, the president did not hide the fact that carrying out such an operation "could be a source of pride for him," because it is possible to save the lives of millions of people.
At the same time, the strengthening of the US military presence in the Caribbean is exacerbating the situation. Since August, American warships have been conducting regular patrols to combat drug trafficking in Latin America. This redundancy caused concern in some countries and exacerbated political disputes in others.
Trump also expressed strong opinions regarding Venezuela. He said that if necessary, there is a possibility of US troops entering Venezuelan territory, and explained this option as "nothing being ruled out." Additionally, he made serious accusations that the Maduro regime is sending thousands of Venezuelans, including prisoners, to the US.
A few hours after this statement, Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro attempted to create a genuine diplomatic atmosphere - he declared his readiness for a face-to-face conversation in the US with "any person who wishes to communicate with Venezuela." However, he criticized Washington's current policy, noting that the American government is trying to change power in Caracas.
At the same time, the government of Trinidad and Tobago clearly stated its position: they will never provide their territory for a strike against Venezuela, and the US has also stated that it has not officially requested this. American naval infantry exercises in the archipelago are causing controversy not only in Venezuela but also in several regional countries.
While Washington accuses the Venezuelan leadership of involvement with a "terrorist drug cartel," Maduro vehemently denies these claims. At the same time, since September, the US military has been carrying out airstrikes on ships suspected of transporting narcotics in international waters, resulting in the deaths of at least 80 people.
As the situation in the region becomes increasingly complex, each of Trump's statements brings new political waves. Officials emphasize that the need to address the main problem - drug trafficking, migration, and security issues - through dialogue has intensified.
