The health ministry reported that the number of people killed in Gaza from Israeli attacks has exceeded 70,000. According to information released on Saturday, 301 more people have been added since Thursday. Two recently died from strikes, the rest were found under rubble.
Israeli officials did not immediately comment but questioned the accuracy of Gaza’s data. Over the past two years, airstrikes have destroyed the area, making it difficult to count the dead.
The war began after a Hamas attack on October 7, 2023, which killed more than 1,200 people and took 251 hostages. Israeli retaliatory strikes have destroyed many families.
The UN and experts consider Gaza’s health ministry figures reliable. Search for bodies under rubble is ongoing, which continues to increase the death toll.
