61 million tons of gold reserves discovered in Iran's Shodan mine

A gold deposit of 61 million tons was discovered in the Shodan gold mine in Iran’s Khorasan province. This was reported by the "Fars" agency.

The confirmed reserves, as acknowledged by the government, include 7.95 million tons of gold oxide ore and 53.1 million tons of gold sulfide ore. This makes the Shodan mine one of the largest gold mines in the country.

The Shodan mine is located in the eastern part of Iran, in the South Khorasan province. This region is near the Persian Gulf and the border with Afghanistan, and is considered one of the country’s largest gold projects.
