Russia disagrees with parts of the US peace plan for Ukraine
Russian President Vladimir Putin said after talks with US representatives in the Kremlin that Moscow disagrees with parts of the US plan to end the war in Ukraine. He noted that there is no agreement on some issues concerning Ukrainian territory and security guarantees.

US delegation leader Steve Witkoff will meet with Ukrainian representatives in Florida. President Donald Trump described the talks as “reasonably good,” but the final outcome is not yet known. Putin stressed that Ukrainian troops must withdraw from eastern Donbas.

Ukrainian representatives said that Putin is wasting time. President Volodymyr Zelensky stated that Ukraine will not give up any territory and demands firm security guarantees. Ukrainian and European leaders are applying pressure to ensure the talks produce real results.

Since February 2022, Russia has controlled about 20% of Ukrainian territory. In recent weeks, Russian troops have gradually advanced in southeast Ukraine, but fighting continues, and both sides are suffering heavy losses.
