The Iranian government has warned by closing the Strait of Hormuz

The tension in US-Iran relations has once again hit the "energy nerve". According to Jalal Dehghani Firuzabadi, secretary of the Iranian Strategic Council for International Relations, if a war breaks out in the region, energy security will be seriously threatened and could lead to the closure of the Strait of Hormuz.
He also put forward the idea that "if the Strait is closed, China will suffer first." The logic is simple: if the oil route is blocked, prices will jump "not only on schedule, but also in life." Therefore, he expressed the view that this will force Beijing to oppose the war.
Why is this talk making the world so excited? Because the Strait of Hormuz is one of the most important corridors for global oil transportation. For this reason, it has been reported in recent days that the United States has also issued updated recommendations for ships to be careful when passing through the strait.
So far, this is not an official warning, meaning that “we are closing it now”. But such statements usually have a rapid impact on the market, insurance, logistics and general mood: one word - a thousand headlines, and then a thousand “price lists”.
The main intrigue in the coming weeks will be: whether the parties will tone down the rhetoric or intensify it. If diplomacy is given importance, the “pressure” around Hormuz will decrease; if tensions increase, the risk will also increase - especially in late winter, when energy markets themselves are already in a state of limbo.
