In London, the Ramadan mood lit up Coventry Street

The famous Coventry Street in London, the capital of England, was once again covered with festive lighting decorations in connection with the month of Ramadan this year as well. London Mayor Sodiq Xon reported this on social networks.
This street, stretching in central London from Piccadilly Circus to Leicester Square, took on an even more blessed look in the evening. It was noted that the project was implemented by the “Aziz” foundation in cooperation with the London municipality.
This year, the decorations were prepared based on geometric light patterns. A light installation with the inscription “Happy Ramadan!” (“Ramazon muborak!”) was installed above pedestrians’ heads. In total, more than 31 thousand LED lights were used for the decoration works.
It is reported that the lights are turned on every day according to local time from 17:00 to 01:00 and will operate until 19 March. This naturally makes the Ramadan atmosphere clearly felt not only by Muslims, but also by London guests and people out for a walk.
At the lighting ceremony, Mayor Sodiq Xon together with a representative of the foundation symbolically switched on the lights. He emphasized that London is considered one of the first cities in the Western world whose central street is specially decorated in honor of Ramadan.
According to the mayor, Ramadan is an important period that brings together representatives of different nations and religions and strengthens mutual respect and solidarity. This initiative, which began in 2023, has by now become one of London’s inseparable Ramadan traditions.
