Former Kyrgyz security chief Kamchybek Tashiyev has returned to Kyrgyzstan and is currently being questioned by investigators, according to local sources. He is reportedly at the Main Investigation Department of the Interior Ministry.
Sources said Tashiyev had been abroad since February 17 and was questioned after his return as a witness in two criminal cases. No official details have been released about the nature of the investigations or the scope of his testimony.
So far, Kyrgyz law enforcement agencies have not issued a formal statement on the matter. Because of that, information about the case remains limited, and reports now circulating are based mainly on source accounts rather than confirmed official disclosures.
Until authorities provide further clarification, key details about the proceedings remain unknown. It is also unclear whether Tashiyev will be called in again or whether additional information will be made public in the coming days.
