In a statement on the occasion of Navruz, the Supreme Leader of Iran, Mujtabo Khamenei, expressed sharp and noteworthy views on the international situation. He emphasized that the US and Israel made a serious mistake in assuming the imminent collapse of the state system in Iran.
In his speech, Khomeini noted that over the past year, the country has experienced three major trials - war and crisis. According to him, the first clash was the conflict with Israel in June 2025, in which the US was subsequently involved. This confrontation became a serious test for Iran.
As a second "war," he cited the January 2026 mass protests. In his opinion, external forces, taking advantage of economic difficulties, sought to destabilize the country and even carry out a coup d'état.
"The enemy made a big mistake. They thought that in a day or two the people would rise up against the Islamic system. But the reality turned out to be completely different," he said, referring to previous conflicts.
At the same time, Khamenei assessed the current situation as a third-stage war. According to him, the confrontation with the US and Israel continues today, and this process has entered a new stage.
The Iranian leader emphasized that the Iranians have united and formed a comprehensive defense system to protect the country. In his opinion, this demonstrates the internal unity of the people and their ability to resist external pressures.
Another important aspect of the statement was the issue of some attacks in the region. Khomeini emphasized that attributing the strikes on Turkish and Omani territories to Iran is incorrect. According to him, such actions are deliberate provocation organized by "sionist forces" with the goal of sowing seeds of distrust between Iran and its neighbors.
"Attacks against countries that have friendly relations with us were not carried out by the Iranian armed forces. This is a cunning scenario used by competitors," he added.
In general, this statement shows that the geopolitical situation in the region is becoming even more tense. The direction in which this confrontation will develop in the future is of great importance for the security of not only the region, but also the whole world.
