On an important condition: Haaland gifted the precious book to his hometown

Manchester City striker Erling Haaland bought one of Norway's most expensive books and donated it to his hometown. The 25-year-old footballer, along with his father, Alf-Inge Haaland, bought a collection of royal sagas published in 1594 for 1.3 million Norwegian kronor, which is approximately $130,000.

The work is attributed to the 13th-century Icelandic Scald poet and writer Snorri Sturluson, whose texts are considered central sources of Scandinavian historical literature. According to reports, the Haaland family completed the purchase in December, but the news has only recently been officially announced.

After this, Haaland donated the rare book to the municipality of Time, where he was born. According to reports, he set one important condition for the gift: the book must be available to the public through the local library.

Officials said that the book will be stored in safe conditions and will be open to readers and visitors. This gift was described as an important cultural gesture, allowing more people to see a historical work that is usually almost inaccessible to the general public.
