Trump believes that the war with Iran is close to ending

Donald Trump believes that the military confrontation against Iran, which the United States is conducting together with Israel, is “in the final stage”. He stated this in an interview with Fox News journalist Maria Bartiromo. A fragment of this interview was published on the channel’s website before it was aired.

When asked “Has the war with Iran ended?”, Trump avoided giving a direct answer and explained the situation as follows: according to him, he had to personally intervene, otherwise Iran could have obtained nuclear weapons. He noted that such a scenario would have posed a serious threat to the world.

According to the president, if Iran had possessed nuclear weapons, diplomatic relations would have taken a completely different form, and the balance of power in the world could have significantly changed.

Later, he clarified his answer to the question about the war, stating that its end is very close. According to him, the process is at a stage “very close to completion”.

Trump also stated that if the United States withdraws its troops from the region now, Iran would need at least 20 years to recover. He linked this to strategic pressure and political influence.

“We are not finished yet, we will see what happens,” he added, emphasizing that Iran, in his view, is taking negotiations seriously.

According to the Associated Press, Trump had previously repeatedly stated that the United States had gained the upper hand in this conflict.

Meanwhile, U.S. Vice President JD Vance said on April 14 at an event in Georgia that Trump’s main goal is to reach a “big deal” with Iran. According to him, if Iran renounces nuclear weapons development, the country would have the opportunity for economic development.

JD Vance also promoted the idea of integrating Iran into the global economy on a broad scale, noting that this would open new opportunities for the country.

Previously, during a temporary ceasefire period, Trump also hinted at the continuation of negotiations. He even mentioned the possibility of new diplomatic steps in the near future.

According to current data, the temporary truce with Iran will end on April 22. The first round of negotiations, held in Iran, did not produce significant results.

The United States is demanding clear guarantees from Iran regarding its nuclear program, while Tehran has called these conditions “unacceptable demands”.

Thus, military pressure from the United States and Israel and diplomatic negotiations are continuing in parallel. The situation has not yet been fully resolved, but the parties have not stopped dialogue.
