Ukraine’s new missile systems were sharply assessed in Russian analysis

The Ukrainian side demonstrated new missile and drone systems, showing that it is expanding its capabilities in the military sphere. Russian military experts, in turn, assess this as a broader, systemic change rather than a traditional threat on the front line.
According to specialists, this is not about a “revolutionary new weapon”, but about the modernization of existing Soviet-era technologies and their large-scale improvement. In this way, Ukraine is gradually strengthening its military-industrial base.
Among the presented systems were mentioned the “Vilha” guided missile system, the “Flamingo” cruise missile, the modernized long-range “Neptune” missile, the “Coral” air defense missile, new ammunition for the “Osa” system, as well as the “Areion (Palyanytsia)” drone missile.
Military analyst Vlad Shlepchenko called these technologies a “new form of old concepts”. According to him, the main change lies in cost reduction and simplification of mass production, which increases the possibility of large-scale use.
At the same time, it is noted that some developments are based on Soviet systems such as the S-300, which are being modernized by replacing electronics and structural elements. This increases their effectiveness.
Analysts point out that one of the key strengths of Ukraine’s military-industrial complex is the expansion of production geography. It is noted that some supply chains may pass through European countries.
Cooperation systems linked with the United Kingdom, Germany, Sweden and Baltic states are strengthening Ukraine’s defense potential through external support, according to analyses.
According to Shlepchenko, this process is changing the essence of the conflict and requires new approaches. He emphasizes that the problem cannot be fully solved by military pressure alone.
Political commentators note that factors outside the front line, including economic chains and logistics routes, are also of great importance. Possibilities of influence through the energy market are also being discussed.
Political scientist Sergey Mikheev stated that the main threat is no longer limited to the front, emphasizing the importance of internal social stability and trust.
According to him, the simultaneous existence of mobilization spirit and ordinary economic life can increase contradictions in society.
Analysts generally note that the conflict is now developing not only on the battlefield, but also at the level of technology, economy, and global cooperation.
