Uzbek Embassy issues official statement regarding tragedy involving young Uzbek woman in Seoul

The Uzbek Embassy in Seoul has issued an official statement regarding the death of Uzbek citizen Kim Nozima Akmal qizi in South Korea to address spreading rumors and ensure a transparent investigation. Following a detailed forensic analysis and review of surveillance footage, South Korean authorities reported no signs of homicide or physical trauma, suggesting the cause of death was likely suicide. The deceased’s mother was invited to South Korea to meet with investigators and review the evidence firsthand, while the embassy continues to coordinate closely with local police. Officials have urged the public to rely only on verified information, noting that the investigation remains ongoing under the embassy's supervision.
The Embassy of Uzbekistan in Seoul has issued an official statement following the spread of unconfirmed reports regarding the death of Nozima Akmal qizi Kim, an Uzbek citizen who died in South Korea. The case is currently under investigation by law enforcement authorities.
According to the embassy, close cooperation with South Korean police was established from the day of the incident. All necessary measures are being taken to ensure an impartial and comprehensive investigation process.
To this end, the mother of the deceased, Feruza Alimbekova, was invited to South Korea and participated in official meetings there. On April 14, negotiations were held in Pyeongtaek with the participation of police, legal counsel, and embassy representatives.
During the meeting, detailed information was provided regarding the preliminary results of the investigation and additional examinations. According to the conclusions of the Korean side, no signs of homicide were identified in the death.
Based on in-depth analysis, including forensic medical examination results, it was stated that the cause of death is likely being recorded as suicide.
During the investigation, DNA, blood, and fingerprint analyses were conducted, which found no traces of poisoning or severe physical impact on the body. Video surveillance footage from the scene and medical facilities was also presented to the family.
Police emphasized that some images circulating on social media are not part of the official investigation and noted that distributing them constitutes a legal violation.
The investigation is currently ongoing. The Embassy of Uzbekistan maintains control over the situation and continues to cooperate with the South Korean side. Citizens have been urged not to believe unconfirmed information.
