Trump's rating drops sharply, disapproval reaches record high

U.S. President Donald Trump’s public support has significantly declined. According to the latest joint poll, his overall rating has fallen to 37 percent, marking one of the lowest levels in history.
The study was conducted in partnership with The Washington Post, ABC News, and Ipsos. It surveyed 2,560 Americans between April 24 and April 28, 2026. The poll has a margin of error of approximately 2 percent.
The results indicate that 62 percent of Americans oppose Trump’s policies. In particular, some of his foreign policy moves, including his stance on Iran, have failed to gain majority support, with 66 percent against and 33 percent approving.
Satisfaction with economic policy is also low, with only 34 percent of respondents approving. Experts attribute this trend to rising fuel prices.
At the same time, Trump’s rating remains high among Republicans at 85 percent. However, among independent voters, the figure has dropped to 56 percent, hitting a new record low.
Political analysts believe that the president’s decline in ratings could negatively impact the Republican Party's standing in the U.S. House of Representatives and the U.S. Senate.
As is known, the U.S. midterm elections will take place on November 3, 2026. The elections will determine the outcome for all 435 seats in the House of Representatives and 33 seats in the Senate. According to the poll results, Democrats currently hold a 5-point lead among voters.
