Kazakhstan Launches Artificial Rain Technology

Kazakhstan has become the first country in Central Asia to implement artificial rain technology. On May 16, a launch ceremony for the project to increase artificial precipitation was held in the city of Turkistan.
According to the Ministry of Digital Development and Aerospace Industry of Kazakhstan, this technology can increase precipitation levels by 10–20 percent compared to natural conditions. Special methods are used to influence the atmosphere.
The project aims to reduce water scarcity, replenish reservoirs, and improve irrigation for agricultural lands. Officials state that the initiative will help mitigate the effects of drought on over 911,000 hectares of farmland.
It is estimated that the artificial rain project could increase agricultural efficiency and generate an average of up to 35 billion tenge in additional annual benefits for the Kazakh economy.
