Chevrolet has announced an extended warranty for three of its vehicle models: the 2022 Silverado 1500, 2022–2023 Blazer, and 2022 Trax. The warranty now covers repairs for a fuel vapor pump issue for up to 15 years or 240,000 kilometers, whichever comes first. This extension applies exclusively to this specific defect.
The issue stems from a faulty pump that may trigger the "check engine" light on the dashboard. While this doesn’t affect the vehicle's drivability, Chevrolet offers free repairs even for vehicles with multiple owners. Additionally, the company will reimburse owners who have already addressed the issue at their own expense if they submit a claim by January 14.
The program includes vehicles with a variety of engine options. For example, the Silverado 1500 is available with engines ranging from a 2.7L turbocharged I4 producing 310 hp to a 6.2L V8 with 420 hp, as well as a 277 hp Duramax diesel. The Blazer features a 2.0L turbocharged I4 with 228 hp or a 3.6L V6 with 308 hp, both paired with a 9-speed automatic transmission. The Trax is equipped with a 1.4L turbocharged I4 producing 155 hp and a 6-speed automatic transmission.
