According to autostrada.uz, Uzbekistan’s Committee for Competition Development and Consumer Protection has declared that charging station operators cannot legally charge parking fees after a vehicle’s charging is complete, unless they hold a proper license.
Typically, drivers are allowed a free 10–15 minute window after charging ends. Beyond that, fees ranging from 400 to 600 UZS per minute are applied. However, such charges are illegal without an official permit for parking services.
As per Cabinet Resolution No. 213 (dated July 31, 2013), all paid parking activities, including those at EV charging stations, must be licensed.
The committee emphasized that operators must clearly inform users of all tariffs and hold valid documentation. Charging without a license is a violation of Uzbek law.
Citizens encountering such unlawful charges can report it via the hotline 1159.
