310 km electric range and a new platform: BYD Song Ultra DM-i unveiled

BYD has announced that the official launch of the new Song Ultra DM-i hybrid crossover will take place in China on May 28. Equipped with the company's fifth-generation DM hybrid technology, the vehicle will be offered with two battery capacities: 26.6 kWh and 38 kWh. These batteries allow for an electric-only range of 205 km and 310 km, respectively. This is reported by Ixbt.com reports.
According to official teasers, the exterior of the new model almost replicates the fully electric Song Ultra EV version unveiled in March. The vehicle's dimensions are 4850 x 1910 x 1670 mm, with a wheelbase of 2840 mm. The trunk capacity is 730 liters, and by folding the front seats, a 1.8-meter flat sleeping area can be created.
All models come standard with a 15.6-inch touchscreen media system. Higher trims feature a special passenger seat with ventilation, heating, massage, and leg rest functions, a built-in refrigerator, and a 16-speaker audio system. The center armrest houses two wireless smartphone chargers and cup holders.
Technologically, the crossover is equipped with the Level 2 "Eye of God" system, consisting of a lidar and 27 sensors. One of the most significant innovations is that the car is built on a new rear-wheel-drive platform, which significantly improves handling and dynamics.
