Tesla sales in Russia fall 35% in the first quarter

Tesla's market presence in Russia continues to diminish, with only 36 new vehicles registered in the first quarter of 2026, marking a 35% decrease compared to the same period last year. This sharp decline follows a consistent downward trend from the brand's peak in 2023, when annual sales reached 1,257 units. Even the highly anticipated Cybertruck has struggled to gain traction in the region, with only three units registered over the past three months.
Demand for Tesla electric vehicles in the Russian market continues to decline sharply. At the end of the first quarter of 2026, only 36 new cars of this brand were registered in the country. Ixbt.com reports this.
This figure is 35 percent lower than in the same period last year.
In 2023, the company’s most successful year, 1,257 new Teslas were sold in Russia. However, after that, sales volumes steadily declined: in 2024, 685 were delivered to buyers, and in 2025, 449 cars were delivered.
Current figures show that the brand’s position in the market has weakened significantly.
Among the models failing to deliver expected results is the Tesla Cybertruck. Over the past three months, only 3 of these pickups have been registered in Russia.
It was reported that a total of 70 such electric vehicles have been imported into the country since the summer of 2024.
