Skoda Epiq electric car unveiled: Cheaper and more compact than Kamiq

Skoda has unveiled its new compact electric car, the Skoda Epiq. This vehicle is designed as an electric alternative to the brand's internal combustion engine Kamiq crossover, with a starting price set at £24,950. This makes it even more affordable than the traditional Kamiq model. This is reported by Autocar.co.uk .
The new model is built on the Volkswagen Group's MEB+ platform. In terms of design, the Skoda Epiq features the brand's new "Modern Solid" style, distinguished by T-shaped lighting and unique body lines. The car's trunk has a capacity of 475 liters, and there is an additional 25-liter compartment under the hood for the charging cable.
Technically, customers are offered two versions. The Epiq 40 model is equipped with a 133 hp engine and a 37 kWh battery, capable of covering 190 miles. The more powerful Epiq 55 version provides up to 272 miles of range thanks to its 208 hp engine and 52 kWh battery. Both variants can charge from 10 to 80 percent in less than 25 minutes.
The Skoda Epiq is also notable for its functionality: it allows for powering external devices and feeding energy back into the grid. Additionally, regenerative braking is enhanced via "B" mode, introducing a one-pedal driving system. Initial deliveries of the car are scheduled to begin early next year.
