A pair of glittery socks worn by the King of Pop Michael Jackson during a concert was sold at auction for more than $8,000. This was reported by Peopletalk.
These socks were worn by Jackson at a concert in the city of Nîmes, France, in 1997 as part of his “History World Tour.” While performing his famous song “Billie Jean,” he appeared on stage wearing white athletic socks decorated with rhinestones. After the concert, the socks were found lying near the wardrobe, and a stage technician saved them.
Needless to say – although small, this item is considered a cult object among fans due to its connection to the pop legend. Over the years, stains appeared on the socks, and the rhinestones turned yellowish. Nevertheless, they still hold great value.
This is not the first time. In 2009, a casino resort in Macau purchased the glittery glove worn by Michael Jackson during his famous “moonwalk” for $350,000. And in 2023, the hat he wore before that same performance was sold in Paris for over $80,000.
