Hollywood star Leonardo DiCaprio recently revealed one of his biggest career regrets. According to him, refusing the lead role in Paul Thomas Anderson’s 1997 film Boogie Nights was a decision he still laments.
In his interview with Esquire, DiCaprio said:
“My biggest regret is not starring in Boogie Nights. That was a defining film for my generation. I can’t imagine anyone else in that role but Mark Wahlberg. When I finally watched it, I thought it was simply a masterpiece,” the actor confessed.
At the same time, DiCaprio expressed satisfaction that he eventually got to work with Anderson. Their upcoming film First Battle is set to premiere in September 2025.
In the new movie, DiCaprio plays a hermit who once joined a group of revolutionaries with his wife. Sixteen years later, he must confront the ghosts of his past and fight to save his daughter.
