Famous singer Guli Asalxo‘jaeva was invited as a guest to the “Omon-omon” program and shared interesting memories about her family life. During the conversation, the artist spoke in detail about her son Jahongir’s future aspirations, how she entered the art field herself, and what she considered when choosing daughters-in-law.
“I wanted my son to become a diplomat”
According to the singer, every profession has its own challenges. Her son Jahongir was a diligent and active student at school. Therefore, as a mother, she wished him to become a diplomat and repeatedly mentioned this path. But Jahongir replied: “I can become a diplomat for your sake, but later I will regret it.” Hearing this, the singer decided to respect her son’s wishes and interests.
Guli Asalxo‘jaeva shared a personal example. In her youth, she was interested in art. Since her sister had higher education in art, she took Guli to an institute to study in another field. Even though she passed the exams successfully, her father did not allow her to continue. This left a small regret in her heart.
After marriage, a new opportunity appeared. With the support of her husband, she could study at an art university. This experience taught her to let her children freely choose their careers. Hence, she allows her children to select professions they like.
“My daughter-in-law has a pure heart, no cunning”
During the talk, the singer also spoke about choosing daughters-in-law. She said that previously in interviews, people often asked how she would react if her sons married artists. She admitted she thought a lot because a person in art also needed to manage household duties. She herself lives like an ordinary woman: cooks, cleans, even sweeps the yard.
When choosing a daughter-in-law, she first talks with the girl’s mother. In her opinion, a girl is often like her mother. When Jahongir announced his marriage to Asal, the singer first discussed it with her mother. Seeing that the girl’s mother was very kind and sincere, she gave her consent.
The singer emphasized that her daughter-in-law turned out to be well-mannered and caring. Active in household work and knows how to cook. Most importantly, her heart is pure and sincere. Guli Asalxo‘jaeva said she now has three daughters-in-law and treats them like her own daughters. She wishes them happiness and harmony, stressing that love and understanding in a family are the greatest wealth.
