A great loss for our literature: Kamchibek Kenja has passed away

A heavy loss for Uzbek literature and culture. Today, April 8, Kamchibek Kenja, an Honored Cultural Worker of Uzbekistan, a dedicated teacher, a talented poet and writer, a publicist, and a translator, passed away at the age of 80. This was officially reported by the Writers' Union of Uzbekistan.
The late artist was born on August 15, 1946, in the village of Gurkurov, Izboskan district, Andijan region. He successfully graduated from the Faculty of Philology at Tashkent State University (now the National University) and dedicated his entire life to literature and enlightenment.
Kamchibek Kenja left a unique mark on Uzbek literature with his multifaceted work. His first collection of poems, “Sog‘inch” (1975), was warmly received by readers, while the collection of stories titled “Yashil barg” demonstrated his potential in the field of prose.
Subsequently, a number of works were published, such as “Ko‘ngil ko‘chalari” (1979), “Ishqing tushsa” (1981), “Orzumandlar” (1982), “Notanish gul” (1986), “Tog‘ yo‘lida bir oqshom” (1987), “Sohildagi suv parisi” (1993), “Qizil gullar” (1995), “Sohibjamol ayol siri” (1996), “Kulgibaxsh umr” (1997), “Boburiylardan biri” (2000), “Baxt qushi yoki ushalgan orzular” (2001), “Xamir uchidan patir yoxud kulcha hikoyalar” (2005) and “Saylanma” (2006).
Through his works, the human psyche, love, dreams, and the philosophy of life were deeply and impressively illuminated. The artist was particularly recognized not only for his contribution to literature but also for his contribution to the upbringing of the younger generation.
Kamchibek Kenja will be remembered as a creator who has deeply entered the hearts of readers with his productive work, sincere pen and popular works.
