Anvar Sobirov: After “Begona bahor”, I faced a cold reception at weddings

Renowned singer and actor Anvar Sobirov, appearing on the show “Xush kelibsiz”, spoke openly about the unexpected consequences of his role in the film “Begona bahor”.
The artist stated that his life changed significantly for several years after the film's release. He noted that for 3–4 years, he barely felt the usual warmth when performing at weddings.
“After the film, I was perceived by the audience as the person who hurt, humiliated, and mistreated Nargiza. Because of that, the public identified me with that character,” he said.
According to Sobirov, at some weddings, he faced sarcastic and even rude behavior from guests. He did not hide that he felt uncomfortable in such situations, recalling hearing remarks like, “Ugh, look who’s here, get out of my sight.”

This situation troubled the artist, leading him to consult his mentor. The mentor approached the situation differently, viewing it not as a negative, but as a great achievement for a performer.
“This is your success; it means you played the role so convincingly. You should be happy about this,” his mentor’s words served as a great lesson for Sobirov.
Today, the artist remembers that period as a creative experience and an important life lesson. In his opinion, true acting is measured by a performance that compels the audience to believe.
