Sanctions against Russian oil are being eased

During negotiations with representatives of allied countries, the US confirmed its intention to continue easing sanctions against Russian oil amid rising oil prices in the global market. Bloomberg news agency reported this, citing its sources.

According to the agency, Washington conveyed its position to the allied countries last week. The US side emphasized that these measures are temporary and aimed at stabilizing the global energy market against the backdrop of operations against Iran.

The US Treasury Department also lifted sanctions on the trade of Russian oil and petroleum products previously loaded onto ships until March 12. The general license issued by the Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) allows these operations to be carried out until April 11.
