According to reports, the incident occurred in the courtyard of a house located in the Chichekozu neighborhood of the Ergani district. Children aged 14, 15, and 16 took shelter under a tree to escape the rain. However, an unexpected natural phenomenon—a lightning strike—targeted them.

Emergency medical services and law enforcement officers arrived at the scene immediately. The injured were taken to the Gazi Yashargil hospital. Despite the efforts of doctors, it was impossible to save the lives of the two teenagers.

Experts are once again reminding that standing in open areas, especially under trees, is dangerous under such weather conditions. This tragedy showed the population the need to be cautious regarding natural phenomena.
