A tragic incident in Saint Petersburg has once again shown how simple carelessness can lead to severe consequences. Liza, a 25-year-old veterinarian attending a medical conference, lost her life due to a freak accident.
It turned out that she was eating an apple when someone called her. In her haste to respond, she choked on a piece of apple, which blocked her airways and led to clinical death.
Despite the presence of doctors nearby, the situation escalated so rapidly that they were unable to clear her airway in time. Although paramedics arrived and restored her heartbeat, it was determined that her brain had been deprived of oxygen for nearly 28 minutes.
Following this, the young woman spent a year in the hospital connected to life support machines. She could hear those around her, but was unable to move or speak.
Unfortunately, despite all efforts, her heart stopped beating on May 19. This event once again proves how a simple moment of carelessness can lead to a grave tragedy.
