At least seven people have died as a result of the extreme heatwave in France. Temperatures in several regions have reached record levels for May, posing a serious threat to public health.

According to media reports, five of the victims drowned, while two others died during outdoor sporting events. Dozens of citizens have also been hospitalized due to deteriorating health, with some reported to be in critical condition.

According to Météo-France, temperatures in some southwestern regions have exceeded 37 degrees Celsius. This has been recorded as one of the hottest May days in the history of French weather observations.

The anomalous heat is not limited to France. The UK has also seen record-breaking temperatures. In Spain, forecasters predict heat reaching up to 40 degrees. Restrictions on outdoor work have been introduced in parts of Italy.

Experts attribute this situation to climate change and a hot air mass arriving from Africa. According to them, a "heat dome" formed over Europe is causing high temperatures to persist for an extended period.

Experts warn that such heatwaves may become more frequent in the future. Meanwhile, global forecasting centers have indicated that this year's summer in Uzbekistan may also be hotter than usual.
