The presidential decree "On additional measures for the development of a network of micro hydroelectric power stations in the regions of the republic" was adopted.
According to the decree, the following main target indicators for the development of a network of micro hydroelectric power stations in the regions of the republic in 2025-2026 were established, including:
- construction of 2,983 micro hydroelectric power stations with a total capacity of 164 MW and production of 500 million kWh of environmentally friendly electricity per year;
- provision of electricity to 280 thousand people through the commissioning of new micro hydroelectric power stations;
- ensuring employment of 1,200 workers during the construction period and creating 520 permanent jobs after the projects are put into operation.
By May 1, 2025, land plots selected for the construction of micro-hydroelectric power plants based on project documentation will be allocated to the Ministry of Energy in accordance with the established procedure.
The Ministry of Energy will ensure that the allocated land plots are leased to project initiators for a period of 20 years for the construction and commissioning of micro-hydroelectric power plants.
In addition, a group for the implementation of small and micro hydroelectric power plants projects will be established.
