Uzbekistan begins exporting rare metal rhenium
Uzbekistan has started exporting rhenium metal for the first time, reported Kursiv.media.
For the first time, Uzbekistan has exported the rare and valuable metal rhenium. It is produced by the Tashkent Metallurgical Plant (TMK). The first shipment was sent to Estonia under a contract with VLCor Baltic OU.

Rhenium is a rare metal used in aircraft manufacturing, space technology, and in producing durable alloys that withstand high temperatures.

In the first six months of 2025, TMK sold products worth $21.3 million — twice as much as in the same period last year.
