The money supply in Uzbekistan increased by 32.2% over the year
According to the Central Bank of Uzbekistan, the money supply amounted to 312 trillion soums from January to May 2025, Kursiv reported. This is a 32.2% increase compared to the previous year. Cash turnover through banks in the first half of the year reached 563 trillion soums, up 23% year-on-year.

The share of payments made via terminals rose from 41% to 43% in one year, while the share of cash in circulation dropped by 2.2% to 18.9%. Of this amount, 277 trillion soums were inflows and 286 trillion soums were outflows. The Central Bank issued an additional 5.2 trillion soums in cash in the first half of the year.

According to the regulator, the share of payments made in cash nationwide fell from 59% to 57%.
