Export of High Added Value Products Supported

New additional measures have been adopted in Uzbekistan to stimulate the production and export of high added value products. According to the Presidential decision dated August 18, 2025, from September 1, 2025, to January 1, 2028, the excise tax on polyethylene granules imported into the country will be set to zero. This decision is aimed at supporting local producers and minimizing imports.

According to the decision, until January 1, 2028, the customs duty rate for importing certain primary forms of ethylene polymers (for example, HS codes 3901 10 900 0, 3901 30, 3901 40, and 3902 10 000 0) will be zero. This measure will be a significant incentive for local manufacturers, increasing their competitiveness.

In addition, the decision includes measures to prevent the importation of low-quality counterfeit products into the country. Any illegal products related to export or import will be returned on the ex-officio principle.

The adoption of this decision will have a significant impact on the economic development of Uzbekistan and enhance its export potential. The measures aimed at producing and exporting high added value products will not only stimulate local enterprises but also give a new boost to the country's economy.
