Currently, more than 600 startups operate in Uzbekistan. Eight years ago, this sphere was insufficiently developed, and the number of startups could be counted on the fingers, but now their number has sharply increased and occupies an important place in the country’s economy.
The President noted that in the seven months of this year, record investments have entered startups – totaling more than 264 million dollars. This is approximately four times more than the investments received during 2024. Therefore, the state will continue to support startups, assist in their development, and create new business opportunities.
Special attention will be paid to the commercialization of advanced ideas among young people: 1,000 startup ideas will be commercialized, and about 200 of them are planned to be brought to the international market. This demonstrates Uzbekistan’s technological potential not only locally but also globally.
In addition, the most advanced technologies will be brought into the country, and 100 local startups will be transformed into attractive and effective businesses on an international scale. Financial support totaling 100 million dollars will be provided.
Starting this year, a new project – the “Young Entrepreneurs” championship – will also be held. The 100 best ideas will be selected, and up to 1 billion soms will be invested in each startup. Furthermore, the costs of financial and marketing experts necessary to turn these startups into brands and increase their competitiveness in the market will be covered.
The President noted that the winners are planned to be awarded on August 20 – Entrepreneur’s Day. In his opinion, this event will serve as a significant motivation and source of inspiration for young entrepreneurs, encouraging them to create new ideas and be more active in business.
Such broad support for startups and the attraction of international investments will undoubtedly further increase the entrepreneurial spirit among youth and elevate the country’s economy to a new level.
