According to the State Statistics Committee, in August 2025, prices for goods and services in the consumer sector increased by an average of 0.4%.
The annual Consumer Price Index (CPI) stood at 108.8%, which is 1.7 percentage points lower compared to the same month last year (August 2024 — 110.5%).
In August, food prices rose by an average of 0.6%, non-food goods by 0.3%, and paid services for the population also increased by 0.3%.
The main contributors to inflation were higher prices for watermelons (28.7%), melons (11.7%), cabbage (11.4%), potatoes (3.5%), eggs (2.7%), poultry (1.9%), cotton oil (1.6%), lamb (1.4%), and beef (0.2%).
Additionally, price hikes in non-food products such as gasoline (3.1%) and cement (0.8%), as well as services like legal services (9.9%), household waste disposal (3.0%), and barbershop services for men and boys (1.0%), were key drivers of inflation.
For calculations, around 170,000 prices were recorded across more than 10,000 trade and service outlets. Prices for 420 types of food and non-food products and 90 types of services were monitored.
