In Uzbekistan, wages decreased sharply, and vacancies increased

In Uzbekistan, wages will decline sharply in the third quarter of 2025. According to the Head Hunter (hh.uz) platform, the monthly salaries offered by employers decreased by an average of 20.2% compared to the same period last year. In some sectors, this indicator has exceeded 70 percent.

At the same time, the number of job offers has increased - from July to September, more than 33 thousand active vacancies were posted on hh.uz. This is 24 percent more than in the same period last year.

Offers increased, but salaries decreased

During the reporting period, the majority of job offers came from the city of Tashkent, but the number of active vacancies in the capital decreased by 81.9 percent. At the same time, in the regions, on the contrary, growth was recorded: in Jizzakh, the number of vacancies increased by 1.5 times, in Namangan - by 49%, and in Fergana, Andijan, Bukhara, and Samarkand - by more than 40%.

According to the regional distribution, Samarkand accounted for 4.8% of the total number of vacancies. In other cities, this indicator did not exceed 1.6 percent.

Average salary - 4.36 million soums

In the third quarter of this year, the average monthly salary offered through Head Hunter was 4.36 million soums. This figure is 20.2% lower than in 2024. In the capital, salaries remain the highest, averaging 5,083 million soums. However, in Tashkent, salaries decreased by 41 percent.

In some regions, the decline was even more serious - in Navoi, the monthly salary fell by half, in Karshi - by 92%, and in Chirchik - by 21.6%. At the same time, wages in Andijan increased by 25 percent, in Samarkand and Fergana - by 2.7 percent.

According to analysts, such sharp changes may be associated with seasonal factors in the labor market, changes in the structure of work, and an increase in mass vacancies.

In which sectors are salaries high and low?

Currently, the highest salaries, as usual, are recorded in the sphere of higher and middle management - an average of 8.94 million soums. However, this also decreased by 13.7% compared to last year. Lawyers are in second place - their average salary is 6.5 million soums, which is 21% less.

The top 5 sectors include automotive business (6.48 million soums), agriculture (6.16 million soums), and investment and consulting areas (5.44 million soums). Only in agriculture has wage stability been preserved.

The lowest salaries were determined in the field of security - 1.59 million soums. This indicator has decreased almost twofold compared to last year. In the insurance sector, wages decreased by 62% and amounted to 2.36 million soums. The salary for domestic workers was 2.4 million soums (-32.3%), and in the catering sector - 2.65 million soums. The average salary in the IT sector is around 4.35 million soums.

Administrative staff experienced the biggest blow: their salaries fell by 72.6% to 3.13 million soums. In the construction sector, wages decreased by 62.5%, and in finance and accounting - by 47.7%.

National statistics show a different indicator.

In Tashkent, the average salary exceeded 10 million soums. The financial and IT sectors maintain leadership in terms of monthly salaries.

In which areas is demand increasing?

According to Head Hunter, 15% of job offers came from sales and customer service. Marketing and advertising accounted for 11%, and the spheres of fitness, sports, and beauty - for 7.8%. The share of ads related to the automotive business was 6.7%.

The lowest job offers were recorded in the fields of insurance (0.1%), security and law (0.6%). At the same time, despite the low demand for the agricultural and mining sectors, the number of vacancies in the insurance sector has increased by 2.5 times.
