Crypto-entrepreneur Chun Wang heads to Mars with SpaceX

Chun Wang, founder of F2Pool, one of the world's largest Bitcoin mining platforms, has joined SpaceX's first interplanetary mission to Mars. The Chinese-born entrepreneur, who holds Maltese citizenship, has fully funded the flight. According to SpaceX, the two-year mission will see the spacecraft pass the lunar orbit, circle Mars, and return to Earth. This is reported by Cointelegraph.com .
Before the Mars mission, Chun Wang also plans to participate in a week-long commercial flight around the Moon. According to the entrepreneur, the construction of lunar bases will soon become a reality due to the competition between the US and China. However, he is skeptical that flights to Mars will happen within our generation. For this reason, he emphasized that he purchased this flight to encourage SpaceX not to delay the Mars project.
Currently, tech industry figures, including billionaires like Jeff Bezos, Richard Branson, and Jared Isaacman, are actively supporting space tourism. According to SpaceX's plan, research and cargo missions to Mars will not begin before 2028. The company's ultimate goal is to build a self-sustaining city on Mars with a population of over 1 million.
Chun Wang founded the F2Pool platform in 2013, which currently controls over 11.85% of the Bitcoin mining market. The entrepreneur previously led the "Fram2" mission, which flew over the Earth's poles in collaboration with SpaceX. He believes the new mission will prove that Mars is not just a dot in the sky, but a real destination where humanity can travel and return safely.
