Teachers in Jizzakh fell victim to fraud

According to the press service of the Jizzakh regional Department of Internal Affairs, an internet fraudster has been apprehended.

Several teachers from general education schools reported to law enforcement agencies that they had fallen victim to fraud. The victims were invited to participate in a competition held for teachers. The winners of the competition were promised cash prizes of 30, 20, and 10 million soms. Information about this competition was announced on a specially created Telegram channel.

The victims fulfilled the competition conditions and sent videos reflecting the teaching process to the fraudster. The fraudster told them that they met the competition criteria and asked for payment to participate. In this way, one of the victims sent the fraudster 2 million soms initially, and then another 2.3 million soms. After receiving the second payment, the fraudster promised to help the teacher appear on television.

As a result of the conducted urgent operations, it was determined that a person living in Mirishkor district of Kashkadarya region was responsible for this crime. A criminal case has been initiated against him. Read “Zamin” on Telegram!
