Drunk man kills young man over rumors in Surkhandarya

In the Surkhandarya region, a drunk man fatally stabbed a young man after rumors spread in the neighborhood, reports Millar.

According to the investigation, the young man visited a girl’s house, and word quickly spread in the community. The girl’s 48-year-old father felt "disgraced" upon hearing the rumors and, in a drunken state, went to the young man's house.

Once there, he shouted for the young man, and after an argument, stabbed him multiple times. The victim died on the spot.

During the trial, the accused partially admitted his guilt and expressed remorse. He was ultimately sentenced to 12 years in prison under Article 97, Part 1 (Intentional Murder) of the Criminal Code of Uzbekistan. Follow “Zamin” news on “Telegram”
