The construction of a new railway line from Jamboy district to Urgut district has begun. UzA reports this.
It is reported that the new network, with a length of more than 50 kilometers, will be built taking into account modern engineering solutions according to the master plan developed by "Tashtemiryullaoyiha" LLC.
The new railway line will start near the "MAN" plant in Jamboy district and continue along the Zarafshan River, crossing the 4R-238 highway. A special railway bridge will be built on the river.
Then it will continue through the Toylak and Samarkand districts and go to Urgut district. Stations will be built in densely populated areas of the Jamboy, Samarkand, Toylak and Urgut districts, where the railway passes.

For example, a station will be built near the "Zhartepa" border customs post in the Urgut district, which borders Tajikistan. This will allow Tajiks to travel around our country by rail.
"This new network is one of the largest projects in the railway sector of our country. This will not only improve the transport network of enterprises of the "Urgut" free economic zone, but also create convenience for the population, and develop tourism in the region," says Rasuljon Ruziyev, director of the "Temiryol Proyekut" LLC.
It was noted that the construction of a new railway was launched, and it was attended by the Minister of Transport Ilhom Makhkamov, the acting governor of the Samarkand region Adiz Boboev and other officials.
For your information, the Urgut district, which is home to almost 600 thousand people and thousands of enterprises, has not yet had a railway line.
