A person was arrested for trying to sell 72 acres of land in Bostanliq for $1 million

The State Security Service of the Republic of Uzbekistan, in cooperation with the Department under the Prosecutor General's Office, conducted an urgent operation.

Two individuals living in the Bostanlyk district were detained with material evidence when they received 230 thousand US dollars in exchange for registering a 20-hectare plot of land allocated by the district administration to two members of a company specializing in gardening and viticulture for the purpose of building a summer cottage in the name of the buyer.

The urgent action was also continued, and a citizen who introduced himself as the owner of this land plot was also detained while receiving this 230 thousand US dollars in exchange for transferring the land plot to the buyer's name.

In another case recorded in Bostanlyk district, a citizen agreed to sell his relative a 36-hectare land plot allocated for landscaping and construction of a boathouse in the protected zone of the Chirchik River for 150 thousand US dollars, based on a 2008 decision of the district administration, and also demanded 10 thousand US dollars in exchange for formalizing the relevant documents through acquaintances working in the cadastre system, and received a total of 160 thousand US dollars.

In another case, a person living in Tashkent city trusted another person and agreed to sell him 72.6 hectares of non-residential land located in the Bostanlyk district and owned by 8 citizens for a total of 1 million 81 thousand 740 US dollars, at a price of 14,900 US dollars per ha.

He also demanded 10 thousand US dollars in exchange for converting this land into a residential area through official acquaintances and obtaining permission to build a multi-storey building there.

During an urgent operation conducted by officers of the State Security Service, the Department for Combating Economic Crimes, and internal affairs bodies, he was detained while receiving 110 thousand US dollars in advance.
