
In Uzbekistan, high school graduates will have the chance to win a Damas car in a science olympiad, nova24.uz reported, citing Minister of Preschool and School Education Hilola Umarova.
According to the report, the "Future Young Engineers" science olympiad will be held in April at the Tashkent Institute of Textile and Light Industry. Only graduating students can participate. The subjects will include physics, mathematics, and chemistry.
The prizes will be awarded as follows:
1st place — Damas car (3 winners);
2nd place — 20 million soums (shared by 3 students);
3rd place — 10 million soums (shared by 3 students).
“Such projects motivate our students to improve themselves and increase their interest in knowledge,” said Hilola Umarova.
Earlier it was announced that monetary prizes for winners of international olympiads would be increased fivefold.
