Drugged woman crashes into 30 cars in Tashkent

On April 19, 2024, around 07:30 AM, a serious traffic incident occurred in Chilanzar district of Tashkent, according to the Ministry of Internal Affairs.

A woman driving a Lacetti ignored police orders and tried to flee the scene. During her escape, she crashed into dozens of cars — according to eyewitnesses, about 30 vehicles were damaged.

Bystanders managed to stop the car, forcibly pulled the woman out, and held her until law enforcement arrived. An inspection revealed that the driver and her passengers were under the influence of drugs. The woman also had no driver’s license.

A criminal case has been initiated under Article 277 (part 3) of the Criminal Code of Uzbekistan for "Hooliganism". The driver and one passenger have been detained. They face up to 5 years in prison.
