The Adolat Social Democratic Party faction of the Legislative Chamber of the Supreme Majlis expressed concern about the illegal short-term rental of vehicles and sent a parliamentary request to the Ministry of Transport and the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
The request, submitted by faction member Dilmurod Ismailov, specifically noted that some "entrepreneurs" are threatening human life and health for the sake of their material interests and do not take into account the procedures established by law.
According to the law, only legal entities registered in a special manner may engage in short-term rental of vehicles. At the same time, lessees must have an appropriate driver's license.
However, in practice, these requirements are not always followed. A vivid example of this is the recent sad events in the Namangan region.
It is reported that cars are being illegally rented through some Telegram groups, even to minors and persons who do not have the right to drive a vehicle.
It is noted that such situations are causing serious traffic accidents. In particular, on October 2, 2024, three teenagers died as a result of a terrible car accident involving an illegally rented Gentra car in the city of Namangan.
In this regard, the deputies sent the following questions to the Minister of Transport Ilhom Makhkamov and the Minister of Internal Affairs Aziz Toshpulatov:
— What work is being done to identify persons illegally engaged in short-term rental activities?
— What measures are being taken against identified violators?
— What measures are being taken to prevent such violations?
— What is the personal view and attitude of the ministers on this issue?
The deputies are waiting for answers to these questions from the ministries. Read 'Zamin' on Telegram!
