Fergana man turned his house into contraband depot
A large batch of smuggled cigarettes was discovered during an operation by the anti-smuggling division of the Fergana regional customs department, reported upl.uz.

Authorities inspected the house of a man living in the Fergana district near the border. They found 12,500 packs of "Milano London" and "Esse Change" brand cigarettes without excise stamps, smuggled illegally into Uzbekistan and produced abroad.

The total value of the contraband was estimated at 220 million soums.

A criminal case has been initiated, and investigations are ongoing.
