Another painful incident occurred in Bukhara involving a young entrepreneur who abused the trust of many people. Sh.I., born in the Vobkent district and not yet even 22 years old, was known in his village as an aspiring young entrepreneur. It turned out that through the “WTI” LLC he established, he had been embezzling large amounts of money by promising people jobs in England.
To present himself as a reliable organization, the young leader opened his company’s office in a shopping complex in Bukhara city and hung a slogan on the door: “Get a job in England, earn money!” Naturally, this slogan attracted citizens and gave many hope.
However, the company did not have the necessary license for its activity, that is, to send citizens abroad for work. Despite this, he promised each of the 23 citizens a “perfect” job in England and took thousands of dollars from each.
Soon, the number of calls and demands from deceived citizens increased: “Brother, it’s been more than six months, where is England?”, “Otherwise we’ll file a complaint against you!” But the fraudster continued his “work.” With the involvement of other recruited individuals, he continued collecting money.
After a complaint from citizen O.J., law enforcement agencies began an investigation and exposed the fraudster’s actions. During the court proceedings, all facts were confirmed.
As a result, by court decision, Sh.I. was sentenced under Article 168, part 3, clause “b” (fraud, in large amount) of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Uzbekistan to 6 years in prison.
This case once again proves that before chasing promises of being sent to work abroad, it is necessary to check any organization’s legal status, license, and reliability. Trust is the greatest wealth—don’t give it to just anyone. Read 'Zamin' on Telegram!
