"Mother in Navoi tried to sell her baby for 10 million soums - court sentences her to 3.5 years in prison"
A court verdict has been announced on one of the most serious crimes committed by Navoi's internal law enforcement officials in recent times. A woman named N.K. was brought to court for violating her parental duties and trying to sell her baby for several million soums. This situation caused heated discussions not only on social networks, but also among the general public.

The subject of the trial dates back to early 2024. N.K. left for Turkey for work in June 2024, returned to Uzbekistan in August, and gave birth to her child that same month. Having shown in sufficient time that she was not up to the task of being a mother, the woman decided to sell her baby after a while, intending to go abroad again, and to go to court.

On September 4, 2024, during an operational event organized by the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the State Security Service, N.K. was caught illegally selling her child for 10 million soums. At the scene, the woman wrote a written receipt, which played a significant role in court. She also provided not only written documents, but also other evidence - expert opinions, audio recordings and witness statements - to prove the illegal exchange of money.

During the trial, all documents collected by the prosecutor's office and investigative bodies, including expert opinions, evidence based on audio recordings, comments and statements of witnesses, were found to have a rational basis. As a result, N.K. was found guilty under Article 135, Part 3, Subparagraph "a" of the Criminal Code and sentenced to three years and six months in prison.

Her actions were uncharacteristic of a good person and seriously violated her child's rights. On social networks, many users accused her of immorality as a mother and assessed the sentence as social justice. Some experts attribute this behavior to the lack of sufficient information about parental responsibilities in society and social institutions.

The judges' firmness towards women once again proved the strength of our country's policy of protecting human rights, children's rights, and combating offenders. After the court verdict was announced, N.K. is currently in a penal institution, and her young child has been temporarily placed under social protection.

This incident is in the spotlight not only in Navoi region, but also throughout the republic. The ongoing debate about family responsibilities and rights is intensifying, and lawyers are emphasizing the need to strengthen the systems of social and psychological support for women. It is concluded that her case has been added to the court register as an important precedent.
